Where sellers configure their own analytics on their listings, those practices are governed by the seller’s own privacy policy, as described in Section 5.

We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the Platform:

• Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you choose to set them, your security questions are stored in encrypted form.
• Profile and listing information: seller username, biography, contact details, and the details of any domains you list for sale.
• Transaction information: purchase history, amounts, and payment method chosen. We do not store full payment card numbers; payment details are processed directly by our payment partners (PayPal and Escrow.com).
• OAuth login data: if you sign in through a third-party provider such as Google, GitHub, Facebook, Apple, or X, we receive the profile information (such as name, email address, and avatar) that the provider shares with us.
• Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies. We may derive an approximate geographic location (country level) from your IP address to tailor content and help prevent fraud.
• Communications: the content of messages you send us, such as support requests.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the Platform, process transactions, facilitate escrow services, send transactional and service communications (including payment reminders for pending purchases), communicate with you about your account, improve our services, detect and prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:

• Performance of a contract: to provide the Platform and complete transactions you request.

Seller-Controlled Analytics. Sellers on our Platform may configure their own Google Analytics tracking ID on their domain listing and lander pages. When a seller has done so, Google Analytics cookies may be set on your device when you visit that seller's domain page. This tracking is controlled by the seller, not by BestInThe.com, and is subject to the seller's own privacy practices. You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Sharing Your Information

We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate the Platform, our escrow partner (Escrow.com), and our payment processor (PayPal) to the extent necessary to complete transactions you request. We may also disclose data to comply with legal requests, protect our rights and the safety of our users, or with your consent. We do not sell your personal information.

7. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our service providers and payment partners are located. We take appropriate safeguards, such as recognized transfer mechanisms, to protect your data during such transfers.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, fulfill transactions, satisfy legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
